With summer looming just around the corner it’s time we turn our thoughts to the important things in life, like basking in the sun. If you need are in need of some good outdoor lounging furniture (and who isn’t) check out this new chaise from Ikea. The KVARNO chaise lounge is made of oiled solid acacia wood and anodized aluminum. Not only does it look great, it’s flexible too. Keep it flat and use it as a bench, or get comfy with an adjustable head and foot. Pricing is a little on the high side for my taste at $159, but that is a lot better than anything else I have come across that looks this good. It’s part of Ikea’s seasonal summer line, so once the warm weather goes away, it probably will too.
Available from Ikea for $159. (It’s not on the website yet, check your local Ikea for availability)

I think the price is pretty awesome for being made out of actual solid wood…that’s hard to find at a mainstream retailer these days.

We really liked the Kvarno Chaises we saw online in IKEA. However, we had to get creative in acquiring them, as we do not have an IKEA where we live. We contacted a friend in Connecticut, and she went to the IKEA, purchased two KVarno Chaises for us, and shipped the boxes to us with our shipping labels. Unfortunately, when we got the boxes; according to IKEA, each chaise would come complete in each box, we received ONLY the top of the chair, NO LEGS for either chair, and only one set of wheels, oh yeah, and NO HARDWARE. Well, what are we going to need hardware for anyway? THERE’s NO LEGS!

We’ve attempted to resolve this with IKEA, and because our friend paid cash and neglected to save the receipt, they’re okay with the fact that they sold us a VERY INCOMPLETE purchase of TWO CHAIRS for FULL PRICE. Yet, they are the sole source for this chair, so we cannot get the needed parts anywhere else.

So, our advice is, don’t buy these, and don’t buy anything from IKEA until you rip open every box and check the contents . . . .

Total rip off, and total lack of conscious customer service.

When you buy something from Ikea it can be very tricky…since deb you don’t have one and have never been to one. Your friends weren’t paying attention and just took the one box they thought was all they needed. It’s really hard for them to put a large lounge in one box. When you check out you just pay (you have to pay for each bag you use) so it’s kind of your on your own thing..they don’t double check everything kinda how they don’t pack things for you. Which is why it’s so much cheaper. They would have probably helped you, had you had the receipt and were able to take back the boxes and show them.
