Ceramic French Press

cafe style ceramic french pressI’ve been looking for a good french press for a long time now, and last week I was absolutely delighted when a picture of these Ceramic Cafe´ Style Coffee / Tea presses from Golden Calf arrived in my inbox. I’m absolutely in love with them, especially the turquoise one in front. Lucky for me Maxwell Silver has the turquoise and mandarin in stock, but if you are wanting another color you need to do some searching. For Life Design has red and white (also available through amazon) but I haven’t found any of the other colors available online.  Does anyone have any experience with these french presses? Do you have a favorite french press?

Creede is a frugal design junkie. He loves miminamist and mid-century influences and often finds himself with a hammer and drill in hand in order to achieve the style he wants without breaking the bank.

wow! I don’t use a french press anymore for coffee since I discovered how amazing and easy cone coffee is, BUT I am seriously tempted by that pretty turquoise one!

while i think they’re really good looking, the french press i use right now has markings on the side – this helps me always put in the right amount of water. i can also see how dark the coffee is getting. it’s also all about the press – if it’s not a good one then you end up with a lot of grounds in your coffee…so i suppose i am concerned that this is one that is a pretty face for a night on the town but you wouldn’t want to marry. :)

I have this and I love it. Not only does it make great coffee (sans grounds–the filter is quality), it is a snap to clean. Being attractive is just the cherry on top.
