DIY Origami Lamp Shade

NewImageI’ve been seeing a lot of nice origami lamp shades lately like this one by Emma Johansson on Coroflot, and I wondered how hard it would be to make a DIY version of the shade.  According to the video below, it’s totally doable, and I have a big gold star for the first reader that pulls it off.

Creede is a frugal design junkie. He loves miminamist and mid-century influences and often finds himself with a hammer and drill in hand in order to achieve the style he wants without breaking the bank.

There is a great documentary titled “Between the Folds” about origami and math:

It’s also available on Netflix streaming for those with that service. Very interesting and entertaining.

This is excellent, thank you! If I wanted a lamp that was ~18 inches in diameter, what size paper would I need to use?
