Air-O-Swiss humidifier

200812300843

With the winter chill comes the joys of heating a house. Our old house had radiant, which was not only very efficient and comfortable, but also didn’t dry out our house to bad. Our new house has normal forced air and a house full of chapped and cracked lips has finally convinced me we need a humidifier. Of course the first one I thought of was the gorgeous plus minus zero humidifier. Try as I might though, I couldn’t talk myself into dropping $300 for it. Blomus also makes a good looking one but it is passive evaporation and I don’t think that is aggressive enough for our dry house. After a lot of searching I finally settled on the Air-O-Swiss evaporator. The $130 price tag is a little high, but it was the best compromise between high prices and good looks. One of the features I am excited about is the fact that you can fill it with a pitcher of water without having to open anything or carry anything to the sink. It should get here in about a week so I’ll let you know how it goes.

Available from Amazon for $139.

This has been our conundrum as well. In the meantime, we’ve borrowed a humidifier for the bedroom. Let us know how the new one fares.

Do you (or any of your readers) know anything about whole house humidifiers? We would like to look into them as a possible solution to the dry winter air.

Whole house looks like a good way to go. I was kinda looking into it but I figured it would be more than I wanted to spend right now.

I love that plus minus zero one! Thanks for sharing this little Air-O-Swiss beauty. We’re considering a humidifier ourselves.

this looks so much nicer thank my vicks model! :) I rarely use one (even though we are in super dry and cold MI) because I hate how the instructions call for a complicated weekly cleaning. More work. And the house we recently moved into has a whole house humidifier thingy that is part of the furnace, but I have been scared to turn it up or use it…it -and the furnace- are from the 80s or so. How to clean it? How does it work? If we start using it, will I be spewing germs and bacteria into the air? sigh.

Why should a humidifier look like an eyesore!! Looks so much nicer than most humidifiers on the market these days. Completely stunning design would really look great with any chosen decor. I am always on the look-out for the best designs and this is pretty cool and with a brand name like Swiss-O-Air you can’t go wrong! Lovely site.

It is actally better to avoid the cheapest brand and spend money ona decent umit such as the Swiss-O-Air above. You will benefit in the long-run. It is just important to clean and maintain weekly which is easy.
