Edison Light Bulbs

cage_lights2.jpg

This morning I’m on an Edison light bulb kick, as in Thomas Alva Edison. It seems like the simplicity and honesty of those old carbon filament light bulbs are something that spans the ages. Even though we have made vast improvements in the efficiency of the light bulb, modern day designs just don’t stand up compared to the beautiful old designs. Obviously I’m not the first to realize this, and more and more people (and lots of restaurants) have been using them. I especially like it when they hang bare on some nice fabric covered lamp wires.

Edison light bulbs available at Rejuvenation for $12 – $15.

Creede is a frugal design junkie. He loves miminamist and mid-century influences and often finds himself with a hammer and drill in hand in order to achieve the style he wants without breaking the bank.

Thanks so much for the where to find info on these beautiful bulbs. I just saw something on PBS about a bulb that has been nurning for over 100 years-The filament is beautiful. I think I want one.

To Paul & Pam-Edison’s nursery is awesome….and I am not a baby person-but wow, if I was the diaper changing station would be there for sure.

Check out this site…it has the kind of bulb you are looking for, Chad.

Re; the cages in the first photo, does anyone know where to purchase these? I have been looking for something like this for some time but haven’t been able to find it. I don’t see a credit on that first photo, either.

You sometimes see the cages come up on Etsy, although you pay a premium for them. Thanks for the link http://www.schoolhouseelectric.com/lightbulbs-type.asp?type=ed
